NEWS

An investigation is underway after two bodies were found in Dublin's Grand Canal. Gardaí recovered the bodies of two Irish men in their 40s this morning, who were pronounced dead at the scene.

The bodies were near the Ranelagh Road bridge, and a forensic examination is being conducted in two tents close to the canal. Items have been removed for evidence, and a cordon was placed around the area.

The men, believed to be homeless, were identified, though formal identification is ongoing. Post-mortem results will guide the investigation. Local officials and homeless advocates expressed their condolences and highlighted the dangers faced by homeless individuals.

Dublin Airport offers a new concierge-style Drop & Go Parking service. Pre-book and arrive at the Terminal 2 Short Term Car Park, entering through ground-level barriers.

Follow signs to Level 3 and access the Drop & Go Parking zone. Barriers should lift automatically, or scan the QR code from your booking confirmation.

Drive through the damage recognition system, which records your vehicle's exterior. A team member will check in your vehicle, register your keys, and provide a personalized receipt card with a unique barcode.

Your car will be moved to a secure onsite car park. Upon return, collect your keys from self-service lockers on Level 3. The Drop & Go team is available 24/7 near the lifts.

A new website allowing tenants to “rate the landlord” will launch soon in Ireland. Originating in Canada from a Reddit connection, the site aims to increase transparency and empower tenants.

Users rate landlords on criteria like Repair Responsiveness, Health and Safety, Rental Stability, Tenant Privacy, and Respect, and can leave written reviews. Inspired by the founders' negative rental experiences, the site started with 50 reviews and quickly grew to 400. The platform is anonymous, requiring only the landlord's name and ratings.

Despite some landlord criticism and concerns about retaliation, the founders stress the importance of transparency and advise tenants to review after their tenancy.
