Two men in their 30s were arrested in south Dublin after gardaí seized two firearms, 2 kg of suspected cannabis herb, and cannabis jellies valued at approximately €41,900 from a residence in Ballinteer, Dublin 16.

The raid was conducted by the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) based on intelligence. The firearms, along with 23 rounds of ammunition, were made safe, and all seized items will undergo further analysis by the Garda Ballistics Unit and Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

The men are being questioned under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Dublin garda stations.

Dublin City Council is bringing back ‘Funtropolis’ this summer, a free family fun event featuring face painting and fairground rides. The event will take place at Merrion Square Park on July 13-14, and at Mountjoy Square Park on August 17-18.
