Do Ireland’s top earners pay too much tax?

Deposit Return program causes more trash and costlier recycling
NEWS
The Irish government is worried about rich people paying too much tax. Currently, the top 10% of earners (making over €102,000 a year) pay 63% of all income tax.
The top 1% (earning €290,000+) pay 24.4%. Meanwhile, about a third of workers don't pay income tax at all.
There’s worry this system might make it hard to attract high-skilled workers and investments. Business groups say it's risky to rely on so few people for most tax money.
Others argue it's fair for rich people to pay more. Independent did a detailed piece on this yesterday.
What do you think?
A 14-year-old boy died after his e-scooter hit a car in Kilkenny yesterday evening.
It happened on Tullaroan Road around 6:30 PM. The boy was taken to the hospital but didn't survive. No one else was hurt.
Police closed the road to check it carefully, but it's open now. They want to know exactly how the boy died, so doctors will look at his body.
Police are asking for help. If anyone saw what happened or has car camera videos from that road between 6:00 and 6:30 PM, they should tell the police.
This accident means 110 people have died on Irish roads this year, the highest, ever.
The new bottle return system in Ireland is causing more problems (according to some).
People are digging through trash to find bottles and cans they can return for money, and causing the streets to be dirtier in the process.
The machines for returning bottles often break down or are hard to use, especially for older people.
