ACTIVITY OF THE DAY

The Irish Potato Famine stands as the most devastating chapter in Ireland's tumultuous history, ranking among the world's deadliest famines relative to population size.

Controversy surrounds the term 'Famine' in this context, as Ireland was then part of the British Empire, the wealthiest in the world. Despite sufficient food supplies within the country, over a million people perished from hunger and disease, while millions more were forced into exile.

This exhibition explores the harrowing events of those years through a documentary film, informative displays, and authentic artifacts from the period.

  • Location: 2nd floor, St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre

  • Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 - 18:00

  • Admission: Ticketed entry

NEWS OF THE DAY

  • Ireland just finished it’s most successful Olympic campaign ever. 7 medals, 4 gold, 3 bronze. Brilliant. There will be a celebration this week once they come back.

  • Michael D Higgins under fire for ‘fawning’ letter to Iran’s new president. More here.

Have a fun Monday.
