Do you support removing non-essential city traffic in Dublin?
It’s Monday, Dublin.
☀ High 18C. Low 10C
I was in Donegal yesterday to visit Wild Ireland, an animal sanctuary that has wild wolves, bears & even snakes + cockroaches (yes, you read it right).
It was a fun trip - though still tired after the long drive back and forth.
Do let me know (just reply to the email) if you want me to do a full review.
Meanwhile, let’s talk Dublin.

Despite the wet weather, Dublin's 50th Pride march proceeded with vibrant celebrations. Participants paraded from O'Connell Street to Merrion Square, undeterred by the rain. This year marks 50 years since Dublin's first Pride march in 1974, organized by the Sexual Liberation Movement. Micheál Kerrigan, one of the original organizers, emphasized the significance of their early efforts.
BelongTo, an LGBTQ+ organization, was honored as Grand Marshal. Trans Pride Dublin focused on the conflict in Palestine, advocating against fascism and racism. The Reach Out Network and other groups also participated, protesting issues like the assault on Natasha O'Brien, reinforcing the ongoing fight for equality and justice.

Taylor Swift wrapped up her Dublin leg of The Eras Tour on Sunday night, playing to a record 150,000 fans over three sold-out nights at the Aviva Stadium. Swift expressed her thrill at making history by selling out the venue three nights in a row. The concerts attracted thousands of fans, including celebrities like Stevie Nicks, Julia Roberts, and Travis Kelce, Swift's boyfriend.
Swift paid tribute to Nicks by performing "Clara Bow," and delighted the audience with her engagement and storytelling. Notable Irish attendees included Ryan Tubridy, Graham Norton, and Amy Huberman. Next, Swift heads to Amsterdam for her tour, followed by shows in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland, Austria, and the UK.
Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan supports Dublin's traffic reduction plan to prioritize buses and pedestrians, despite Minister of State Emer Higgins calling for a delay due to potential impacts on jobs and retail. Developed by Dublin City Council and the National Transport Authority, the plan aims to remove non-essential city traffic. Ryan emphasized the need for efficient bus transit for city businesses. His comments came during the Luas light rail's 20th-anniversary celebration, noting future expansions like the Green Line to Finglas. Transport Infrastructure Ireland warns the planning process may delay the project until 2031.
